Autism Association 2024 Annual Report
In Conclusion
The past year has been one of transformation and change. However, what remained the same was our enduring commitment to ensuring every person with Autism has the opportunities they deserve to live their best life. While adapting to the new operating environment, we continued to provide quality services that meet the needs of individuals and their families. We also continued to play a leading role in advocacy and engaging with the community. We delivered on our strategic objectives
and continued work at a state, national and international level to improve opportunities, outcomes, and support for all Autistic people. We worked with schools, employers, the health sector, and community groups to foster a deeper understanding of Autism and strategies for greater inclusion. Once again, I would like to thank and acknowledge the valuable contribution of many stakeholders, including the State Government through the Department of Communities, and Commonwealth agencies including the Department of Social Services, Department of Health and Aged Care, Department of Housing, and Department of Education and Training. I would also like to extend thanks to Telethon for their support of a number of our
valuable programs and contribution to West Australian families. I would also like to again acknowledge the dedicated work and support of our Board, led by Dr. Rob Storer and the staff at the Autism Association for their commitment and significant work during the year. Thank you to members of the community, our donors, community-based organisations and public sector organisations, with whom we work and who provide us with support. Lastly, thank you to Autistic individuals and their families for leading our direction and continuing to teach and inspire us every day. Joan McKenna Kerr Chief Executive Officer
