Autism Association 2024 Annual Report

Community Giving

During the year, funds were raised to support our work through donations, fundraising events, workplace giving and bequests. It was fantastic to see a number of fundraising events and activities taking place during World Autism Month including bake sales, gym challenges and many more. This includes Cyril Jackson Senior Campus Education Support Centre’s colourful dress-up day and jellybean jar guessing game and the Bayswater-based Panoramic Gym’s bootcamp row challenge, with a distance of 21km! Thank you to everyone who organised fundraisers. In support of aspiring musicians, we were pleased to hold our Inaugural Music Appreciation Gift throughout April. We received a great response, with entries showing the positive impact music has on the lives of many of the individuals we support. We would like to extend our thanks to all community groups and organisations who hosted events and made donations, as well as the many donors who continue to support the Autism Association each year. We would also like to acknowledge the continued support of the City of Joondalup staff who nominate the Association as their charity of choice for their free dress days; and McMahon Real Estate who donate a percentage of commission on some sales. We also thank Total Team Building, who built 4 children’s bikes with staff from Rio Tinto that were gifted to families receiving Early Intervention and School Age services. The West Australian community came together throughout the year to raise donations that provide greatly appreciated support for Autistic people and their families.
