Autism Association 2022 Annual Report
In Conclusion While it has been a very good year with lots of achievements, there is no denying that COVID-19 brought its challenges. In particular, we are mindful of delays in new services due to workforce shortages.
In the coming year, we will continue with great energy on our path in supporting people with Autism to achieve their best life. We will also work with the community, businesses, organisations and education to create a more inclusive community for all. I would like to acknowledge the valuable contribution of many stakeholders, including the State Government through Disability Services Department of Communities and Commonwealth agencies, including the Department of Social Services and the Department of Education. I would also like to extend a special thank you to the Telethon Trust, Stan Perron Charitable Foundation and Lotterywest for their continuing invaluable contribution to Western Australian families. To conclude this report and a vastly challenging and rewarding year, I would like to acknowledge the dedicated work of the Board, chaired by Dr Rob Storer and the staff at the Autism Association for their work in supporting people with Autism and their families. We look forward to the year ahead, continuing to learn from those we support, developing strong partnerships with community organisations, schools, employers and Western Australia as a whole, and creating opportunities for people with Autism to make the world an inclusive place for all.
