Inclusion in Sport

Sports Academy Sports Academy is a holiday group where participants get active and build friendships while being supported to participate in community sport. Participants get to try a range of different sports over 2 days led by our Therapy team and sports coaches from community sporting groups across Western Australia. There are 2 programs to cater for children in years 4 to 6 and teenagers in school years 7 to 11. This year, participants tried out a range of sports including AFL, hockey, karate, basketball, soccer, cricket, netball, pilates, bowling and touch football. Following completion of the program, coaches support each participant to link with their local community club where they go on to become a part of an inclusive community, pursuing the sport of their choice. As the program has evolved, partnerships have been further developed with coaches from clubs, including United Reds, Football West, Touch Football WA, Starkick, No Limits Netball, Perth Redbacks, Break Point Tennis, Family Karate, and more!
