The month started by recognising Autism Awareness Week from the 29 th March – 4 th April, Autism Awareness Day on the 2 nd of April. Everyone had a blast this year finding imaginative and collaborative ways to get involved. We saw creativity shine through in the unique fundraising ideas, educational training opportunities, and fun and exciting events. Throughout the month we had a calendar of 4 free training and workshop opportunities and 10 community events and activities. We also undertook a range of engagement initiatives throughout April including media interviews, workshops, sensory sessions, and a range of awareness activities. The community joined us in our celebrations at these events throughout the month, they also ran their own events and fundraisers, and hosted educational events with their students, peers, and colleagues. Light it Up Blue On Autism Awareness Day, Friday 2 nd April, landmarks around Western Australia lit up blue for Autism. There were 13 landmarks including: Metropolitan locations • Council House • Joondalup Drive Bridge
